Growing a Hoya Krinkle 8 (a cultivar of Hoya carnosa, also known as Krinkle-Carnosa) is relatively easy, making it a great choice for both beginner and experienced plant enthusiasts. This variety is prized for its thick, waxy, krinkled leaves and fragrant star-shaped flowers.
- Light: Bright, indirect light is best. It can tolerate some direct morning sun but avoid harsh afternoon rays which may scorch the leaves. It will survive in lower light, but it will grow slowly and may not flower.
- Watering: Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil are dry. Avoid overwatering — Hoyas prefer to dry out slightly between waterings. Use room-temperature, non-softened water.
- Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix. A succulent or orchid mix with added perlite or pumice works well.
- Temperature & Humidity: Ideal temperature: 60–85°F (16–29°C).
